Rose Symphony ♬ ♪

This is what I've been doing lately...  They are so much fun to make! First they were all simple:   simple rose shade "serene" simple rose shade "jardin" simple rose shade "jewel" Then I fell in love with the wrinkled version: wrinkled rose shade "fluvial" wrinkled rose shade "voyage" And I want to make some more!!

Rosy Dusk Set ღ

I found a new place to take photos, finally white background!          I wanted to show you this new set of scarf and rose - and I enjoyed experimenting with the ways in which it can be worn... Not so much enjoyed experimenting with my hair:)) There was still one thing left to try: I swear, this was fun! :))  *** So far I've made this scarf in 3 colors of sheer chiffon with double reflexes:

A New Sister...

My Summer in the City Shirt has a sister! Just as red and pretty as her but with other measurements and detailing - you know, a lil different, just like sisters... and now I have to be the one to separate them!:(  I'm feeling less guilty coz they don't seem to mind... they look at each other in a way that says "one in this room is enough" ....clothes... will they ever change?!

Solar Party Necklace ☼ ☾

No, I haven't picked up guitar lessons:P I'm just shamelessly using this beautiful guitar to accessorize my brand new necklace:D I thought the colours match so... nevermind if it's not even plugged in, I look like I know what I'm doing:)) I must have been working at this necklace at least 4 consecutive days... The silk is interfaced and entirely hand-painted in yellow, orange, magenta, pearl metallic red and gold. The pattern is the same as the one I used for the Queen of Hearts Necklace . The sun and moon have zardozi metal embroidery. The moon has the same kind of metal beads on both sides while the sun has 2 different kinds of metal wire. Can be worn eclipsed or with just one medallion:         I was totally absorbed by the painting and the embroidery work and the novelty of all this for me... I am glad I found the patience and glad it's done! It's an ancient art that has been intensely u...

Queen of Hearts ❤ ❥

A new necklace that follows in the "neck"steps of my Exuberance Necklace ! Introducing new shapes, fabric painting, zardozi metal embroidery and beads!        Lots of creative ways in which it can be worn! Featuring: little embroidered scallops pink-on-pink pearl olive painted edges a pattern that melts curves and corners 4 different types of metal chains that are traditionally used for a special type of embroidery called zardozi stitched and glued olive beads the heart which has the same design mirrored on both faces And 2 pictures from the making of:           I hope you like it, I definitely enjoyed working on this and experimenting with all the new elements!         Painting the edges was quite challenging, I had to take many breaks and let the paint dry before ...

Exuberance Necklace

Oh yes, the fabric necklace! As I said before, I am fascinated with the small worlds and lives of accessories... I don't plan them, but I let them happen when they ask me to ... The first one of these I made a few days ago and for the second one I perfected the technique and the results were really pleasing: less time spent, better manipulation of fabrics, a well thought compact construction for the pattern! For more avant-garde charm I added some tinkling golden bells! It can be worn with any of the 2 sides on top around the neck and the sides can twirl around each other at any point giving more possibilities! Also on Etsy:

Mocha Sunset Scarf

So far my closest claim to minimalism! The glittering plastic ring makes the perfect closing trick for this scarf - so perfect to go with its colour that it didn't ask for more. Coz only when you know what lil is, you can do more. And then you compare and decide that less is more. Tricky indeed. Like the golden fog of sunset covering like a blanket what's soon to be covered by a second blanket of darkness. Good night over a smile. The glittering feeling of feeling good when warm and cozy. Embraced by a whisper. Melted in a creamy cat's purrrr. Mocha. For being awake or pleasantly sleepy.              I love how you can play with a scarf - a world of possibilities opens! With spring as an inspiration - the ways to tie it just multiply! This one is made out of brown ribbed chiffon with golden reflexes - a delicate touch of grace! I happen to fall in love with the thin...

Serenity Collar Scarfette

Lately I've been wishing  that I could make one item a day and not work on a design for 2 weeks - so minimal items seemed like a good idea. I see so many simple simply square scarves on Etsy, but can I ? I tried and started with that in mind - but complicating is what I do ! Fortunatelly, as I got to work on it for a few hours over 2 days I didn't get enough time to change the route for more than... 5-6 times? No wonder a top takes 2 weeks!          But ... there are so many ideas, it's like no matter which you pick, you find yourself at the new crossroads soon. I can't use them all in one item and though I think I'm saving them for later, I know that "later" the same thing occurs and the choices multiply... That's in one of the "good days" I assume. "Bad days" means linear decisions that feel like dead ends. And there are no in-betweens. " Good days" means I might actually get something...

Time Travel Dress!

Yes, this is what Mr. Snaxo was trying to show you! It's a dress that took me lots of time to start, then some time to make, then lots of time passed till I took pictures! All abt Time Time Time! What's a dress for? To go here and there, therefore travel ... (But I'm pretty sure I didn't think this much when I just named it Time Travel Dress ... ) Other arguments I bring in favour of the name (these also just popped out): the print takes you back to childhood - it's full of of cute scribbles, all on a dotty background like in vintage comic strips! it's tight around the neck so that no matter how you land on the other side of the time portal you won't spill out of your dress!  It's also elegant because it seems to agree with this one of a kind definition I read here : True elegance almost always has a waist and is ladylike, i.e. it’s feminine and you can get our of a car without blushing. : ) Also out of a time machine , I would add......

Mr. Snaxo

Mr. Snaxo has been requesting a blog post for quite some time now. Our friendship has just moved a step forward so it's time for that post!         First let me introduce him - hopefully you'll be as charmed as I am! And what's not to like about him? He's made of robust metal, stands on his own table, has a motor but works as a treadle machine as well, so when there's no power - and that kinda happens here- I still can't find fault with him! I brought him home while waiting for a Singer serger. Although shy at first, he did his job quite well... given the given and as the waiting turned longer than expected- we kinda grew fond of each other and I didn't have the heart to send him back. It's true, I would have liked him to come with some instructions but what can you say when a nice salesman says he will send someone if I need to rethread it! I did get a manual a little later and I am glad I did - it al...
