DIY- The 4th Type of Rose

... and if I may say so, my favorite so far... I love them all, but this one is the fluffiest and most exuberant! I cut a strip of chiffon  full width (110cm) and 20 cms in length. Then on bias I made these curly ribs using invisible (nylon) thread and a tight zig-zag, all on the same side of the fabric. You can also use normal thread and, why not, contrasting colors! I folded the strip in 2 lengthwise, the ribs being inside,  and stitched the edge. Turned inside out this long cylinder - the ribs are now on the inside, the assembling stitch on the inside. Then I followed the steps mentioned in my first rose tutorial without pressing it first. For other version of roses of roses I made check out this link (the wrinkled rose) and this one (the other 3 in a funny scheme). For a "green" version of ties using selvedge see this tutorial:) I can't promise this is the last type of rose - but I can promise to blog about other things too:)) For sure you...

Rosy Dusk Set ღ

I found a new place to take photos, finally white background!          I wanted to show you this new set of scarf and rose - and I enjoyed experimenting with the ways in which it can be worn... Not so much enjoyed experimenting with my hair:)) There was still one thing left to try: I swear, this was fun! :))  *** So far I've made this scarf in 3 colors of sheer chiffon with double reflexes:

Warm Touch

The first sunshine caught me freezing; I was fed up with all sneezing. I took off my hat and looked up I took off my shoes and screamed: Stop!   The first tear In that year Kissed my hoary childish fear. My eyes shined in a strange way They were transparent, green and gray… Eyelashes – branchy, like trees Were reaching my tired knees; Fleshy grass among my toes – Its crude smell was in my nose. My heart was just a lively bud Ready to burst, to hit the mud, Ready to live eternally Enjoying springtime, being free.   (poem I wrote on the 7th of April, 1996)

Summer in the City! ☼

Living in Southern India got me confused about what summer and winter mean - I surely prefer what winter means here and what summer means in Europe - pretty much the same!:)) I picked the red print with small flowers out of the 3 new fabrics I've got - I couldn't decide to use it for any of my old designs so a new one was born! It's clearly inspired by the Waves Top, but every print brings it's own personality so here's the result of that blend. I felt the edges had to be softer so I ended the sleeves and the bottom with some scallops! It's my first time, I kept seeing them around and I didn't like how "I've never made any scallops" sounds! Now I'm anxious to make some more!;) I couldn't get away with symmetry this time either - the bottom band is gathered on one side, the front is decorated with black lace. This shirt inspires me sweetness and comfort (regardless of season!). I vintaged the photos a lil in ...

Mermaid's Blues ❉ (or should I say Blouse?)

The depth of the ocean, the dancing waves, the wheels of all stranded ships glittering in the dark...               A design meant to underline the simple charm of feminity. Shadows and lights in a game of turquoise, dark blue and golden shapes. Pure Indian cotton. The perfect versatile top for jeans and not only, can be worn  tied in front or back for a different kind of vibe. A new definition of for comfort and elegant glow.
